JASMAN STUDIO

John is a British contemporary artist, working in the UK and Southern Spain. Passionate about art from a young age and self taught,  He draws his Inspiration from the energy of his own personal experiences, whether they be from the world around him, a specific narrative or particular situation.

These visceral feelings act as a catalyst for creativity and guide him in deciding the direction and technique that will best represent his vision.

Working with various materials and techniques, including paint, collage, photography and video, his work is ambitious and thought provoking, creating a narrative that draws the viewer into a story, while allowing for their own interpretations. With a passion for playing with colour, materials and perspective, he gives the viewer an additional dimension, whether that be visual or tactile.

Artistic inspiration comes from a number of sources, but primarily 20th century artists, such as Mark Rothko, Clyfford Still, Willem de Kooning, Yayoi Kusama and Lee Krasner.
